Robocamp 11 – IIIT Hyderabad

Robocamp ‘11

Robocamp is an exhaustive six days workshop conducted by students of IIIT-H. The workshop on robotics starts from 6th of June 2011, where participants from all major colleges and universities across the country comes to learn making robots from scratch. The events conducted here focus on basic concepts and try to expose students to possibilities of robots. During Robocamp each participants are allotted a team. This team under the guidance of their mentors builds their dream robots. With IIIT providing its resources for the participants to grow during the workshop we also evaluate them critically and reward the deserving candidate based on their
performance during the workshop. The basic aim of our workshop is to encourage and empower the untapped and budding potential of students by providing them a platform where they not only compete but also learn to apply their innate skills.

The structure of this workshop is as follows:
• Guest lecturers from institutes like IIT-Bombay and IISc.
• Lectures by students on all the topics from very basic to advanced
topics like micro controller programming.
• Labs for the understanding the concepts learned in tutorials.
• Tasks and Assignments at the end of each day.
• Brain Storming Session & Building the Robots.
• Showcase of robots built by students & Felicitation.

This time we are honored to have Dr.N S Dinesh as our guest lecture
from IISc Bangalore an expert on the vision based robots along with
Prof. V Ramagopal Rao from IIT Bombay who is a very famous scientist
on the field of nano technology/robotics.

At the Robocamp we assign mentors for each group which look after the progress of the team hence ensuring that every member of the team has equal attention during the workshop. During the workshop we also provide people with accommodation so that they don’t face problems when they arrive at the campus.
